In March 2003 after 3 months in hospital due to an auto immune disorder called Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) which is one of the leading causes of non-trauma-induced paralysis in the world, I was quite literally in need of some help getting back on my feet and was recommended to the Sam Havler Clinic. Over the course of a year under his excellent supervision, care and encouragement, my health and fitness has gone from learning to walk with sticks, to achieving a personal goal of completing an Olympic distance at the London Triathlon in August 2010.
